As Halloween approaches and children begin planning their costumes for this year, one Amazon seller has sparked huge backlash thanks to their range of childrens’ costumes.

With costumes like “sexy panda animal” and “sexy schoolgirl”, Amazon was forced to remove the items after they received complaints from customers.

The costumes aimed at children as young at four were being sold by the lingerie brand, Silvia’s Wand and were slammed by child safety campaigners.

"Costumes are produced for wide age bands starting at age two or four and are marketed under a 'sexy' label,” Kidscape CEO, Claude Knight told Daily Record.

"Childhood is a precious time and misguided commercialisation and distortion should not be allowed to hijack it in this way."

While many are slamming the costumes, some have issue only with the brand using the term "sexy" in their product descriptions.

Amazon have since removed the costumes from their site but have refused to comment on the issue.
