It doesn’t matter what age you are; everyone looks back fondly on childhood days spent in front of the television. And, while times have changed, it seems tastes most certainly haven’t!
According to new research carried out by the team at Sky, the best-loved kids TV show – by children and adults alike – is none other than Scooby-Doo.
Sky spoke to a whopping 2,300 children aged five to nine, and their parents, across the Republic of Ireland and the UK as part of the survey.
While Scooby-Doo may have premiered back in the ‘60s, it seems it is just as popular as ever, with almost a quarter (23%) of those surveyed naming it as their show of choice.
Tom and Jerry took the second spot, with SpongeBob Square Pants and Peppa Pig taking the joint third place position.
As for why these shows captivate people of all ages, it comes down to humour for (59% of) the kids, while it’s all about stirring up fond childhood memories for their parents.
The research findings were released to mark the release of the network’s Sky Kids App, which launched back in March.
The app, which is available to purchase from GooglePlay and the App Store, provides on-demand content for children aged three to nine years.
With thousands of their favourite shows to choose from, the app presents kids with a profile tailored to their age – perfect for keeping them entertained at all times.
