An argument between three siblings has had tragic consequences for a family in Hudson, Florida.

According to police reports, a 13-year-old boy shot dead his 6-year-old brother before turning the gun on himself in an incident that stemmed from a dispute over food.

The 16-year-old sibling of the deceased boys was also injured during the altercation, but managed to raise the alarm by calling police officials to the family's mobile home.

Commenting on the tragic event, Paso County sheriff, Chris Nocco, asserted that the 13-year-old teen had used a handgun to kill his younger brother and maim his older one before taking his own life.

The shooting took place at 6pm in a community one hour outside of Tampa.
