My baby boy has had very dry skin on his face and legs since he was born 5 months ago and following consultation with a chemist I was told to use aquaques cream on him every day. Which I have been doing and if I ever forget which I tend to the odd day you notice his skin on his face tight straight away and his legs very rough and scally!! I started using the aveeno 3 days ago and I have noticed a big difference straight away especially on his legs which when using the aqueas cream werent as dry but stilll a little rough are now soft as a babys legs should be! I would say that my sons skin is qute sensitive as I had tried another brand of baby moisturiser and his legs actually flared up with a rash as a result. I was a little nervous about trying another brand but have found that he has no reaction so far. I havent used the bath cream yet but will do so this week. Also I have psorasis myself and have used Aveeno on it and have found it excellent at keeping my psorasis at bay!!!

Hi,
I have only been using Aveeno Dermexa on my son for two days now and I can see a massive difference already. My son is 22 months old and I have only been using silcocks base on him from the start as prescribed by my doctor. It has helped him a lot but it is by no means as good as the Aveeno Dermexa. I wouldn't go back to using the silcocks base now. My babys skin is like silk I have never seen it so soft :). I would highly recommend this product ;)

I was using a different cream on my baby but didn't really feel it was working. SInce I started using aveeno dermexa I have noticed an improvement in her skin. I would definately recommend this product to people. Her skin isn't as rough as it has been thank god. Finally I think I have found something that will help!

I was familiar with Aveeno previously as I had been using the daily moisturising body lotion on both myself and my daughter for the past few months. On my daughter’s skin in particular I found it was without question the best relief she could get.
My daughter is 19 months old, from the age of about 2 months she began getting eczema and severely dry skin. It began to get increasing worse. My gp had prescribed products for infected areas but I needed something for daily use and I wasn’t comfortable using steroid based creams for her skin daily. By the time she had reached 6 months old, her hair fell out due the severity of eczema on her scalp. Every morning I would have to peel her vest from her skin due to the severe eczema patches that often bled and dried to her clothing. As well as the very obvious pain she was in, it was awful bringing her places as people would often stare at her. There was a period where it looked as if she was missing a layer of skin all over. To just look at her, hurt!
Prior to the trial, As well as using all the medicated products my doctor
would prescribe, I was using liquid paraffin daily and silcock’s base (which are both messy and leave residue/oil on her skin) until about 5 months ago when I began using Aveeno’s moisturising lotion.
Compared to other products I found Dermexa great and
compared to the daily moisturising lotion it was different. It gave an affect
of being more medicated. Where the moisturising lotion tends to soften the hard
dry areas of my daughter’s skin, the Dermexa went further, it began clearing it
from the outside working in. It worked fast and from beneath the skin layer (if
that even makes sense). Where the best of what I previously used may have given a 'quick fix' to her outter layer of damaged skin, I thought the Dermexa was repairing it.
The emollient wash seemed gentle. I don’t tend to bath my daughter a lot as I find the water can irritate her eczema but the emollient wash was gentle enough to use everyday or at least a few times a week. I think I may be likely to bath her more now but I do prefer not wetting her skin unless necessary, that's what seems to work for us right now.
Particularly after a bath I found the cream gave soaked in quickly, for daily use it gives almost instant relief but as I said already it seems to go deeper than just the top layer of skin. As a combination they work well together.
There is an obvious improvement in my daughter’s skin, she still has the patches that don’t tend to go fully, but they seem to have improved, the 'rawness' of some patches are gone, just leaving dry rough patches. For me, it's amazing the result, given that there are often nights where I would have to
sleep with my daughter because parts of her body are so sore, I slept with her
just to hold her wrists to prevent her doing as much damage to herself as
possible. Since introducing Aveeno products, I have been doing this less and
less. I'd often check her in the morning to find blood and hair on the pillow, this was how severe her scalp and face was, her clothing would be peeled from her daily. It was horrible watching her suffer like that, since our change to Aveeno a few months back, those days are gone, since Dermexa last week, I feel we may have found a product that doesn't just maintain the moisture of her skin but may actually be repairing it.
There isnt' a doubt in my mind that we will have Aveeno products in this house for a long time to come, not only for my daughter but for use on the entire family.
My only 'issue' right now is that having found a product that works, I'd love to be able to walk into a chemist and purchase the range that seems to be available in the States. Such as suncream etc. I'm not sure on the price of this product, but assuming its relatively similar to other Aveeno products, for me, it's worth it's weight in gold!

From the 1st use of both the wash & the cream I could see a difference on my son. He gets very dry skin on the top of his legs, arms & cheeks.
I havent used the wash every day as I use it when he has a bath but I use the cream on him especially his cheeks as they are very dry from teething & the weather.
The only "negative" is that I find I need to stand my son in the bath to be able to wash his legs better as under the water as I rub his legs I feel it washes off before it meets his skin so not getting the best benefit from it.

For only having used the product for a few days I'm finding it of great benefit & will be using it for myself also as I've very dry skin on my arms & legs.

I'm looking forward to the benefits over the coming days / weeks using it.

I have to say that i was very surprised at how quickly Aveeno Dermexa worked on myself and my two boys. My older son 2.5yrs had dry skin on his arms and legs for a while, but i noticed a big change in ony a week of using Aveeno Dermexa. I would recomend this to anyone who wants softer skin!

My 18month old daughter has slight eczema on her arms & I was eager to try Aveeno Dermexa as I've only heard great thing about it! First off I loved the texture of the moisturiser & how easily it asorbed. The bath wash was also lovely & seemed to be very gentle. Unfortunately it didn't agree with my little girl & her eczema flared up & got very red & itchy. Obviously all children are different & this just didn't suit us!

I had heard of Aveeno but hadn’t used any of the products before this trial. Overall, my babies skin is soft but he has dryish cheeks, a dry patch on his temple and his chin is a little scaly from dribbling. I’m glad he doesn’t have worse skin as its hard to see any imperfections on his beautiful skin. Prior to using the Aveeno products I have been applying silcocks base intermittently to his dry patches but found that the Aveeno® Dermexa Soothing Emollient Cream was lighter and absorbed very easily. After a few days use the dry patch on his face was gone.
I didn’t use the Aveeno® DERMEXA Soothing Emollient Wash on his face as I was worried about it getting into his eyes, but I used it myself and found it left my own skin less dry than it would usually be after showering.
I like that these products use the natural power of oats but will continue to try to find products which are as natural as possible.

My son is 4 months old & suffers badly from eczema, as did my 1st son.
So i have some experience with it & knew straight away how to handle it.
I'd normaly use no soap at all, only Silcock's base & aqueous cream or E45.
I have tried every cream on the market, even some that could only be purchased on the net.
But nothing ever really works. When i received the Dermaxa sample, my baby had an infected eczema patch. So he was on antibiotic cream & hydrocortisone for those angry skin patches, but his skin was very rough/ red all over.
I believe Dermaxa cleared the rough/ red rash like no other cream we tried before (including an expensive tube of Moogoo).
I still used the cortisone where the skin is infected, but everywhere else, you wouldn't know there was a rash before. The soap seems very gentle & soft. I use Aveeno body & hand moisturiser & love the range. I'm delighted my local chemist stocks it. They will now stock Dermaxa for me too.
I know it's not miracle eczema cure, but it's the best i ever got so far.

i have been using the cream on my 5 month old for the last 5 days, his skin before using it was very rough and red, i used lots of creams (silcocks base, eucrin, nivea, vaselene, exederm, coca butter) when i applied any of these cream to my baby his skin would flare up and go really tender, i also used the aveeno daily mositure on him once again his skin got irratated, so i was a little nervous using the aveeno DERMEXA, after my first day using it i could see and feel a difference in his skin, and now been on day 5 his hole body is super soft, he is having a proper nights sleep as his skin is not irratateing any more, i highly recommend this cream & wash as it has put a smile back on both my baby and me :D

I have decided to take part in the Aveeno trial as I have used the Aveeno daily moisturizing bodywash and body lotion on myself and was very happy with it. My skin was left soft and was neiver itchy afterwards. My daughter was born prematurely and her skin is very sensitive and dry especially on the back. Next day after the bath I could always see her skin peelng a little bit at the upper back so I had to use baby oil twice a day to keep it moist. Also her cheeks are rough and dry. I have tried many brands to ease the dryness but there was no result. I only bathed her 2 or 3 times a week to lessen irritation.

Since I started using Aveeno DERMEXA Emolient Wash I can actually see the difference. I still give her bath every second day but I think will start to bathe her everyday now. Her skin is soft after the bath and the white patches of dryness disappeared from her upper back. I can feel the difference myself on my skin when I wash her and then dry my hands the skin feels soft, whereas, when I used other products my hands were soo dry I had to use moisturizing cream straightaway. I pour small amount of the Emolient wash into the water and then wash my baby with it. It does help to reduce the dryness and it is not as "slippery" as other emollients. Also it is very gentle on the skin and what is important is does not smell!

The DERMEXA Cream is also quite good. it keeps the skin moisturised and it absobs very quickly without leaving the skin sticky. I use it daily on the baby cheeks and although the roughness is not gone totally the cheeks are smoother. I used it on my arms couple of times as they are very dry and I got the feeling as if the product is absorbed bit deeper than the surface itself.

I find that Aveeno DERMEXA range helps to keep skin less irritated and it takes away the uncomfortable feeling of dryness and itchiness. My baby girl is definitely happier now and so am I.

I know for sure that I will continue bathing my baby with it and I will be using Aveeno DERMEXA for myself as I have found the range in the local pharmacy.

I just started using the aveeno last monday because i was away and i cant believe the difference in my baby girls skin its like pure silk its the first time since she was born 4 months ago that her skin is perfect ive spent a fortune trying different creams and lotions and was using silcocks base every morning when you would take her babygro off you think it was snowing the only complaint i would have about the cream is i find the wash a bit awkward to use because its in a tube you need somebody to put it on your hand when trying to hold the baby that cant sit up on their own i think it would be better in a tub but over all i am very pleased and would highly recommend the cream to anybody i was also wondering is there any shampoos in the range for babies thank you so much for givin me the opportunity to use aveeno i will be sticking with it thats for sure.

My baby boy was born 15days overdue 10 months ago and as a result had very dry skin which quickly became very scaly and subsequently irritated. I had tried many products to no avail. I found some of them totally useless while others seemed to help but left a greasy residue on his skin which in turn caused him to break out in little spots. I began using the Aveeno Dermexa products 10 days ago and can not believe the difference. The wash is extremely easy to apply with a flannel in the bath. It goes on like silk and manages to clean and soothe my babies skin at the same time. His skin feels both clean and silky soft all at once. Even the feel of it on my own hands while washing him is divine. I then use the Dermexa cream as part of my after bath/before bed massage Like the wash it glides on, is non greasy and dries very quickly leaving his skin feeling like silk. Since beginning to use the cream his skin is alot more comfortable. He no longer scratches at it and I notice the skin on his face looks much brighter and smoother. As far as I'm concerned this is the ideal product for dry skin and it is the only one I will be using from now on.

I was familiar with the Aveeno brand before this trial, I had used the body moisturisers myself and really liked them as they were easily absorbed into my skin and I felt the effects lasted longer than other body creams.I wasn't familiar with the dermexa range before the trial so was looking forward to trying it out.
When my baby was born 5 months ago he had very dry skin , it was peeling off everyday and the nurse thought he might have exzema. it has gotten much better but he does tend to have hard dry patches on some parts of his arms , legs and face(esp forehead and temples).I don't think it bothers him much but it bothers me a lot to see him have hard skin and I like to try products out to heal it up.I have dry skin on my hands (from washing his bottles!!) and no matter how much hand cream I use my hands feel hard and uncomfortable.
Before the trial I was using silcocks base as a wash and moisturiser for my son, and I was using vaseline hand cream for my own hands.
I liked using the Aveeno Dermexa moisturiser, it was easily absorbed and left my son's skin lovely and soft. After using it for a few days I noticed a significant improvement and his skin felt noticeably silkier and soft.I really liked that the products weren't heavily scented as I worry that scented products would irritate his skin.I also uesd the moisturiser on my hands and really felt that my hands were softer after using it for a few days.It was more easily and faster absorbed than the other hand cream I was using.
I only used the Emolient wash a handful of times, It was ok but I would prefer something a litttle more liquid for ease of use.
I didn't notice that my child slept better or was less irritable after using the products, as he wasn't bothered about his skin in the first place!
My ideal product for managing my child's skin would be a reasonable price, easily available in grocery stores, easy to apply and quickly absorbed, effective, made from natural ingredients, unscented, made in Ireland.
I would consider using the aveeno dermexa products if I see them available at a reasonable price.

I have been using the aveeno DERMEXA Products on my 11 month old baby boy now for the past 7 days
I have found this product amazing, the first day I used the wash and that evening before he went to bed I used the cream and put on his baby grow over it after just the first application the following morning I could feel the difference his feet especially and legs are quite dry and they are do soft now . I even used a little bit on myself as I had an operation 6 weeks ago and found my skin very dry due to the meds and anastetic found it cleared up my dry skin within the first use I would highly recommend as I was using a much more expensive product on my little boy and there is no comparison to the aveeno DERMEXA ITS FAB XX
