A baby has reportedly been rushed to hospital after an emergency plane landing at Shannon Airport today.

 

According to the Irish Examiner, the child and its parents were passengers on an Air France flight from Paris to Houston, US, when the call was made.

 

The parents are said to have expressed their concern over their child to the airline crew. While the exact details of the infant’s condition have not been confirmed, it is claimed that the tot was suffering from a fever.

 

The plane, carrying more than 300 passengers and crew, was reportedly around five hours into its journey when a call was made to turn it around and make an emergency landing.

 

The airline made contact with staff at Shannon Airport, and the plane was safely landed there shortly after noon.

 

A doctor and an ambulance were on standby to treat the child, who was then rushed to hospital.
