This morning, our hearts are going out to the family of a 24-year-old Australian woman, who lost her life just shortly after giving birth following a car crash in Tasmania.
According to reports, the 24-year-old woman was driving along with her two-year-old child when her vehicle was struck by a stolen Toyota Rav. She was pregnant at the time, and it is thought that her baby was due in early February.
Emergency services responding to the scene managed to safely deliver the baby, while the young child is said to have escaped the crash with minor injuries. The mother, however, tragically lost her life.
As reported in The Mercury, a search was launched for the driver of the vehicle, which had been reported stolen earlier in the day. A 15-year-old is said to have been arrested and is currently under police guard in hospital, where he is being treated for minor injuries. Three other passengers are also in hospital.
This is just a devastating story on every level, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family of these precious little children.
