It was one of the most frightening scenes from the Paris terrorist attacks: a pregnant woman hanging from a ledge of the Bataclan concert hall. Now, the fellow hostage who saved her has added more pieces to the puzzle of her story.

The man, identified only as ‘Sebastian’, has told France’s La Provence newspaper about how he found and helped the as yet unidentified woman.

The woman, who is believed to have survived the ordeal, was captured on video footage hanging off of the ledge screaming, “Help, help, I’m pregnant. Catch me if I fall.”

Recalling the moment he came across her, fellow hostage Sebastian told the paper that he found her as he was running for cover from gunfire himself.

“She was begging people down below if they would catch her if she jumped. But it was chaos down there. We were 15 metres above the ground,” he explained.

Sebastian added: “I held on for five minutes and then the pregnant woman, who was exhausted, begged me to help her get back inside. That’s what I did. I don’t know where she went afterwards but I went back to my old hiding place, which wasn’t great.”

He revealed that he was found by one of the terrorists shortly after and ordered to lie down as gunmen opened fire from the concert hall’s balcony.
