Our hearts are going out to Australian mum Janette Desi this weekend, after what has surely been a rollercoaster of a week, with the highest high following the most tragic low.

Janette has made headlines around the world after welcoming her second child into the world, on Thursday – just four days after losing her husband in a paragliding accident.

Austin Desi headed out on an adventure last Sunday, leaving 40-weeks-pregnant Janette at home with their three-year-old daughter, Evelyn. After a reported equipment failure, however, Austin lost his life and never came home to his beautiful family.

Four days later, Janette went on to welcome the couple’s son into the world; Charles Austin. According to local media reports, Austin had actually chosen the name ‘Charles’ before his untimely passing.

Posting the devastating news to Facebook, brave Janette revealed how she is dealing with the heartbreaking loss: “Evelyn knows that her daddy is flying. She knows he is blowing and stopping the wind. And while he flies, he is painting the clouds up in the sky. Sometimes they’re smooth and sometimes he blows bubbles. We blow kisses up at the sky and say hello.”

Friends and family have gone on to set up a fundraising page (link here) for Janette and her little ones, with the donations already standing at over $24,000.

Our hearts go out to Janette, her babies and the family at this most sad time.
