When Hazel Gaynor was made redundant in 2009, she didn’t have a plan to publish a book.  She just wanted to start a blog.  And so in March 2009, ‘Hot Cross Mum’ was launched as a platform to write on parenting issues. She quickly became part of the blogging community with her witty insights and found people were reading her posts. Having been interviewed for The Sunday Times Magazine, the blog was noticed by a literary agent and her book started from there.

The book, ‘Hot Cross Mum: bitesize slices of motherhood’ has just been published as an ebook and it’s a great read.  I find it difficult to make time to read – I frequently have 3 books on the go and by the time I get back to them I’ve lost the plot.  But Hazel’s book was different.  Her book charts the first twelve months of her journey as she left her corporate career behind and adjusted to life at home with the children. It’s very funny and I found myself laughing - out loud too!  Hazel captures some of the loveliest moments of motherhood in a hilarious way.

But don’t just take my word for it – her reviews have been brilliant:

“Hazel is a brilliant writer and captures the essence of being thrust into motherhood headfirst. Her writing is hilarious and often cuts close to the bone. She'll have you chuckling at your computer screen for hours.” - Susanna Scott, Founder of British Mummy Bloggers and co-founder of CyberMummy Conferences

"A funny, relevant and wonderfully honest account of motherhood. I laughed out loud and nodded in recognition all the way through." -Sinead Moriarty, bestselling author of ‘The Baby Trail’ and ‘Pieces of My Heart’

“Hazel Gaynor is a funnier version of your best laugh-out-loud, fabulous, friend - the one who can take a mundane or even miserable mom-moment and spin it into pure comedy gold. Her wickedly wonderful“bitesize slices of motherhood” go down easier than the smoothest top-shelf tequila and satisfy on every level.” - Jenna McCarthy, bestselling author of ‘The Parent Trip’ and ‘Cheers to the new mom!’ / ‘Cheers to the new Dad!’.

Hot Cross Mum: bitesize slices of motherhood is available to buy through Amazon as an ebook.

Now don’t be phased by the fact that it’s an ebook. You can download a kindle reader that will pretty much work on any computer, tablet or phone.  So don’t hold back.  It’s well worth the read.
