Breaking: Bodies of man and child discovered in Dublin canal

According to emerging reports, the bodies of a man and a child were discovered in a canal in Dublin earlier this afternoon.

Confirming reports of the discovery for the press, a spokesperson for an Garda Siochana said: "Gardaí were called to the scene at Ashington Green, Ashtown, Dublin 7 shortly after 3pm."

Elaborating on the circumstances surrounding the heartbreaking discovery, they continued: "The body of an adult male and a male child were discovered in a stream which is part of the Royal Canal."

It is understood that the bodies were taken from the water and Gardaí in Cabra are currently investigating the.scene.
