A female healthcare worker has been arrested on suspicion of murder. It has been reported that she is responsible for the deaths of eight babies at the Countess of Chester Hospital, Cheshire Police.
She has also been arrested for the attempted murder of six babies.

This news comes after a thorough police investigation of the neonatal unit at the hospital.
Cheshire Police carried out the investigation when they were alerted of an increase in baby deaths between June 2015 and June 2016.

They have yet to expand on the woman’s profession.
Lead investigator, Mr Paul Hughes said: “This is a highly complex and very sensitive investigation and, as you can appreciate, we need to ensure we do everything we possibly can to try to establish in detail what has led to these baby deaths and collapses.’
