A teenager has been charged in connection with the murder of Cameron Reilly in Co Louth.

According to the Irish Times, 18-year-old Aaron Connolly from Willistown, Drumcar, Co Louth faces a single charge alleging he murdered Cameron Reilly at Shamrock Hill, Dunleer, Co Louth on May 26th, 2018.

He will be remanded in custody to Cloverhill District Court to appear by video-link on July 12th 2018.

It is believed Cameron tragically died in "violent circumstances" and police said during the initial weeks of the investigation that other teens may have been present when this occurred. They suggested back in May that a row may have broken out, but this has not been confirmed. Gardaí believe a group of teenagers had gathered there and were drinking and taking drugs the night before the remains were discovered.

Cameron, an only child, was last was last seen in the vicinity of Ardee Road in Dunleer in Co. Louth at about 12.30am on Saturday (and it is believed that he was out with other teens the night before), when his body was discovered only hours later at approximately 8am in Rivervale.

Police had appealed for any teenagers present in the area the night before or night of Cameron's death to come forward and they were also searching for his mobile phone.

Leading the investigation, Superintendent Andrew Watters from Drogheda Garda Station, said their primary focus is "to establish for Cameron's family the truth as to what happened to Cameron."
