According to emerging reports, a man and a woman have been killed in a shooting in Ballymun this afternoon.
The woman was in her 40's and was a mother of six and the man was in his mid-30's, according to RTE.
A child who was in the house at the time was slightly injured.
The child and two other adults are being treated for less serious injuries at the Mater Hospital.
A major investigation is now under way, with gardaí seeking two gunmen.
The Garda Press Office have released a statement confirming that authorities attended the scene of the incident which occurred at Balbutcher Drive.
It is understood that the Armed Response Unit attended alongside the Gardaí today.
The incident occurred at approximately 4pm this afternoon.
Gardaí are examining two vehicles found near the scene. One was slightly burnt out.
The vehicles are described as a silver Opel Zafira, registration 08-LS-3101, and a Golf GTI, registration 06-LH-3466.
