A breastfeeding social experiment shared online last week caused ripples on social media, with many people leaping to the defence of the nursing mother on the Tube, but unfortunately the abuse you see in the following video is not put on for show.
YouTuber Joey Salads, renowned for his social experiment videos, decided to use the topic of breastfeeding to capture a snapshot of the abuse that mothers endure on a daily basis.
In the new video, Joey teamed up with a volunteer and her little one to gauge the public’s reaction when she breastfed in public – and some of the reactions are really shocking.
From one mother advising her to nurse in the privacy of her own home to a grown man confronting the mum with derogatory comments, it’s clear that many people haven’t opened their eyes to the movement for ‘normalising’ breastfeeding just yet.
