Now that October is here, talented children all over the country will no doubt be casting their minds ahead to one of Ireland's most exciting winter spectacles – the Late Late Toy Show.

Show producers previously urged budding Toy Show performers to get their audition tapes in by October 5th, and in light of the current industrial dispute at An Post, this has naturally concerned some little ones.

For all those worrying that their tape may not make it to RTÉ in time however, there is no need to fear, because show producer Katherine Drohan has assured potential performers that their audition tapes will indeed be viewed.

So, for all those little entertainers out there who haven’t got their tapes in yet, all is not lost!

“If you live in Dublin and can drop your audition tape to RTÉ, please do and we’ll get it into the system. If you don’t, then record your audition, fill in your application form and hold on to the envelope. Once An Post say it’s safe to do so, post your application to us and we’ll make sure everything we receive is viewed,” said Katherine today, in an official statement.

She added: “If we need to put on extra auditions, we will. We want to get the best talent and the Toy Show elves are not going to let this stop them.”

Auditions are invite-only, and they are set to take place at the follow locations on the following dates:

  • Cork: October 12
  • Athlone: October 13
  • Sligo: October 14
  • Dublin: October 19

The parents of those hoping to perform on the show are asked to download an application form and send it in, along with a DVD or USB key of their child or group in action.

Application forms are available through http://www.rte.ie/tv/latelate/toyshowform.html and should be sent – when safe to do so – along with the DVD or USB key to: Late Late Toy Show, PO Box 170, RTÉ, Dublin 4.
