Over two weeks after the tragedy of five lost lives at Buncrana pier, hero, Davitt Walsh has taken to Facebook to praise the mother who lost five members of her family.
The 29 year old also spoke about how he wishes to be a part of baby Rioghnach-Ann’s life.
Davitt Walsh rescued the baby girl from the vehicle as her father, Sean McGrotty, who later died, managed to pass the child safely to Davitt.
The message, made public on Facebook, thanked all who had sent good wishes and support his way.
“It's your kindness and sincerity that has given me great strength and enabled me to cope over these last days.” Davitt posted.
