Just weeks after she lost custody of two of her three children, Emma Thomas, 28, sadly took her own life as she struggled to cope.

The young mother took to social media saying “I can’t do it anymore, bye” just hours before she tragically hung herself.

The Manchester Evening News reports that an inquest heard that she had made previous suicide attempts and had been prescribed antidepressants before her devastated boyfriend, Lee Walsh, found her body at her home on March 12.

Emma’s full Facebook post read: “Am done u wont my kids u got them u wont get any1 that love there kids like i do cant do it any more bye.”

Emma had two children - now aged five and nine - from a previous relationship before she moved from Blackpool to Rochdale, Greater Manchester, where she met Lee. A year ago, they had a child who was born with complicated health issues.

The little boy suffers from a serious liver condition which means he has spent the majority of his life in hospital. Social services determined that her two older children would be better off living in Blackpool while Emma focused on her youngest child.

Ms Thomas’s sister, Ellen Price, told Rochdale Coroners Court that last November, social services put the two older children temporarily in the care of their father while Emma cared for her sick baby. “It was heart-wrenching for her,” Ms Price added.

Last week, the coroner concluded that it was clear that Emma had intended to take her own life.

Following the hearing, Ellen said simply: “We all loved her. She was a great mum to her three kids. We all miss her.”
