In an age where technology reigns, it has completely changed not just school and socialising, but also how we interact as a family.

Just how our approach to bonding with our families has changed is clear from the Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘n’ Spoon ‘Family Moments’ campaign.

Carried out across over 600 parents, the campaign took a look at how Irish parents capture and share their precious family moments in today’s digital age.

It’s no surprise that, as we have become more technologically savvy, we are turning more and more to social media and email to create, capture and share our precious family moments.

Indeed, while three-quarters of those who participated in the study admitted to capturing photos with their smartphones, half of the parents surveyed revealed that email is their preferred method of sharing family photos. However, the What’s App application is also incredibly popular, with a quarter of parents now a part of a ‘Family What’s App Group’.

It would appear that the good old-fashioned practice of printing off your photos is a dying art, with only 44% of parents doing it on very special occasions.

Storing up your photos on your tech devices can come with its disadvantages, however, with half of parents saying that they have lost precious moments by not saving their images elsewhere, and going on to break or lose their device.

As for the most precious family moment of the day? You may not be too surprised to learn that half of the parents surveyed listed mealtime as their most precious time for family bonding.
