It was the photo that outraged and upset people all over the world, and there has been a surprising update in the story of the camerawoman who tripped a fleeing refugee while he was holding his child.

Camerawoman Petra Laszlo was fired from her job at Hungary’s N1 TV channel after the horrific footage went viral, and she is also facing criminal charges for her actions.

According to reports this week however, Lazslo is fighting back, and not only will she fight the charges but she is also planning to sue Facebook and one of the refugees she kicked for damages.

In an interview with Russian newspaper Izvestia, Lazslo said: “My husband wants to prove my innocence. For him, it is now a matter of honour.”

Laszlo accused the Syrian man she tripped of changing his testimony, and she explained that she is suing Facebook for allegedly refusing to shut down hate groups against her.

While the Syrian man in question has reportedly been able to re-settle in Spain, Laszlo said she is considering moving to Russia for her family’s safety.

We will keep you updated on the story as more information emerges.
