Due to violence in the family home Caroline ended up homeless following the birth of her baby son.

“They sent me to a mother and baby unit, I was only supposed to stay there for 3 weeks but I didn’t want to leave, it was lovely and clean and in any case where would I go?  I was frightened on my own, what if I couldn’t cope. I couldn’t afford to mess it up he was relying on me. They encouraged me to stay and look after Ross.  I couldn’t remember what it was to have a proper home."

Happily Focus Ireland were able to help Caroline and Ross. She was placed into our emergency accommodation and given the help and support she needed to care for herself and her young baby. As he grew older Ross attended our childcare centre, where he received the support he needed and got the chance to mix and play with little children of his own age.  Caroline and Ross have now moved into a long-term home with Focus Ireland.
