A 21-year-old Florida mum-of-two has made headlines today, after CCTV footage captured the incredible moment she fended off a would-be thief attempting to steal her car while her kids were inside.
The as yet unnamed woman has become a bit of a hero online, after footage of the frightening incident went viral across internet news sites.
It all started in a petrol station on Monday night, when the two aspiring thieves – believed to be a male and a female – approached two women’s vehicles. The suspects wore ski masks to hide their faces, and they were armed with guns.
The pair attempted to take control of one woman’s car, but she managed to escape them by locking herself in and driving away. When attempt number one failed, the duo turned on the mother, approaching her convertible in a bid to drive away in it.
With her one-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son in the backseat of the car, the mother’s protective instincts kicked in and she managed to fend off the would-be thief while pulling his ski mask off to reveal his identity.
The amazing moment was captured by a security camera, and local police went on to arrest and book three suspects in connection with the incident; their bond has now been set at $25,000.
That mum sure kicked butt. Well done to her!
