The head of an online group which has sparked global outrage for its shocking anti-women, pro-rape stance has announced the cancellation of their upcoming meetings - international events which were reported on extensively earlier this week.

Daryush Valizadeh, a 36-year-old blogger and the head of controversial group Return of Kings, has made a statement regarding the cancellation of events due to take place this weekend.

Amid considerable backlash,Valizadeh -commonly known as Roosh V- whose group supports the legalisation of rape, posted a message which announced the cancellation of the events which were due to take place in the UK as well as areas of Ireland, America and Australia.

Citing security issues as the main reason for the decision to cancel, Valizadeh said he was unable to guarantee the "safety or privacy" of the individuals due to attend the upcoming Return of Kings events.

Acknowledging innumerable protests which have taken place in light of the scheduled events, Valizadeh said: "While I can’t stop men who want to continue meeting in private groups, there will be no official Return Of Kings meetups."

Expressing concern for his supporters, the American writer and 'pick-up artist' continued: "The listing page has been scrubbed of all locations. I apologise to all the supporters who are let down by my decision."

The decision comes following an earlier post in which Valizadeh insists he plans to go ahead with the international scheduling, writing: "This meet-up was never intended as a confrontation with unattractive women and their enablers,"

"I’m moving to save as many of these meetups as I can before Saturday so that men can still meet in private away from a loud, obnoxious, dishonest, and potentially violent mob, " he asserted.

The decision will be welcome news to millions outraged by the group's openly misogynistic stance.
