According to emerging reports, a six-year-old boy has been airlifted to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham following an incident at Botton's Pleasure Beach in Skegness.

It is understood the child and his sister were riding the ghost train when he became trapped underneath one of the cars yesterday afternoon.

Concerned when he failed to emerge, the youngster's father and staff members went inside the ride in order to locate him.

It has been established that the child suffered back and stomach injuries as a result of becoming trapped beneath the car and his condition has been described as conscious but distressed.

Commenting on the frightening incident, the managing director of Pleasure Beach Amusements, James Botton, told the Lincolnshire Echo: "We really do not know how he came to be out of the car."

It is understood the Health and Safety Executive has been informed of the incident,
