When you think of Merrion Square, many of us imagine weekend walks enjoying all the amazing artwork on display.

Well, for one day only the railings of the square will showcase self-portraits created by children from all across Ireland.

The outdoor portrait gallery is being organised by The Ark, the cultural centre for children which is based in Temple Bar.

But it’s not too late for your little budding artists to have their work displayed.

Any child under the age of 12 is invited to create their own self-portrait and submit it to The Ark.

Then simply take a picture of it or scan it into your computer and send it to thearkdublin@gmail.com.

But hurry, the first 100 portraits received will be laminated and framed, ready for exhibition from 11am- 4pm on the 24th of February.
