The family, who won €458,316 from a €9 Euromillions Quick Pick, this week revealed that they were ‘down to their last €30’ when they discovered the amazing news.
While the family – who want to remain anonymous – were only one star away from winning the €80 million jackpot, they are more than content with their significant win.
Speaking before the Irish media last night, the ticket winner revealed: “I was down to my last €30 on Thursday night and was terribly worried about how we were going to get through the next couple of weeks. This really couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s life-changing."
She revealed that, after a celebration and a well-deserved holiday to Spain, the family will be investing in the home of their dreams – mortgage-free.
“It will set us up for life – our dreams have come true,” she said.
