Love comes in all shapes and sizes, but if recent internet sensations are anything to go by, members of the public are truly moved by the love that exists between the older generation.

In footage which has amassed over one million hits since its upload on Sunday, Erin Solari's grandparents, 92-year-old Howard and 93-year-old Laura, can be seen coming to terms with Laura's impending demise.

Lying in her hospice bed, Laura repeatedly tells her husband of 73 years that she loves him before the pair begin singing 'their' song in a video which would bring anyone to tears.

Reflecting on her grandparent's choice of song that afternoon, Erin explains: "The song comforted her [Laura] when he went away to fight in World War II...In fact, after fifty years of marriage, they renewed their vows and performed this song as a duet for the entire family at the reception."

Explaining the extra poignancy of the couple's tender exchange, Erin reveals that her grandmother is almost blind and can see little more than shadow and light.

Determined his wife experience as much as possible  Howard, who is wheelchair bound, moved closer to his beloved wife, with the help of a relative, in order to share one of their last embraces,

"Moments before this video began, when Grandma heard that Grandpa was in the room, she asked if she could hold him. Grandpa cannot stand on his own, but he immediately pulled his wheelchair close to her bed ready to make it happen," revealed Erin,

The messages of support which have flooded in since the upload have done much to buoy Howard and Laura's spirits, and Laura is still under the care of her loving family.

What a truly touching moment.
