While the vast majority of us may agonise over the appropriate monetary value of the tip we leave for our server in a restaurant, very few of us choose to forgo the cash route entirely and leave a tip of a personal nature instead.

However, one woman who decided to take that route has been met with shock by newlywed Jessica Morris, the waitress who happened to serve her.

Upon receiving a rude note in place of a tip, Jessica took to Facebook to lay bare her feelings on the other woman's approach to life and relationships.

Uploading a photo of the bill on which the customer wrote ''He's my husband! Find your own! Good luck', Jessica directly addressed Jenny and clarified the situation for her.

"Dear Jenny, ‘I would like you to know, the server that was in the section across from mine, that I kept talking to and checking on throughout the time of you sitting at my table IS MY HUSBAND," she began in a Facebook post which has grabbed the attention of numerous media outlets.

Asserting in no uncertain terms that she found the man she married 'on her own', Jessica continued: "I would like you to know that I’m sorry my husband treated me to a cruise for my honeymoon and not a restaurant."

"My husband would never let me feel so insecure that I would feel the need to write such a terrible note to a server to make them feel the way you have."

Echoing Jenny's gesture, Jessica offered her customer a life tip of her own, writing: "Have pride in yourself and your relationship with YOUR husband to where you don't need to put down another to bring yourself up. Especially a server who lives off her tips ad needs them to help her husband pay bills."

Jessica signed off her open letter with the words: "The woman you offended by thinking so lowly of, that I would attempt to flirt with a man who is with his wife."

We wonder if Jenny will take heed of Jessica's words.
