Next weekend marks Mother’s Day in the US, and while many families will be celebrating with flowers, gifts and a special dinner, the Holderness family had other ideas in mind.

Last year, father Penn honoured the day by ‘going into labour’, and this year he has decided to ‘get pregnant’, to experience first-hand what his wife goes through.

In a hilarious but eye-opening video shared this week by the family, Penn is seen strapping on a ‘pregnancy’ bump – and, boy, is it an eye-opening experience for him!

First, Penn straps on a belt that simulates the ‘constriction’ of the muscles that his wife experiences when pregnant. Next, comes the ‘bladder’ – a pouch in which Penn has to pour 20 cups of water, to simulate what it’s like to have a baby pressing down on one of your vital organs.

So, what is Penn’s verdict? He is not happy!

"This is terrible. So, I feel warm — I don't like feeling warm. I can't really breathe. There's got to be 40 extra pounds on me, right now,” he tells the camera.

He goes on to spend the rest of the day attempting to find clothes that fit, walking up and down the stairs, and cleaning up after the kids. It’s not too long before Penn is wishing his ‘pregnancy’ away!
