When a mother and a father welcome a child into the world, that little one becomes their responsibility together. So, while we hear a lot of talk about men being ‘great for changing nappies’, it’s only right and natural that parenthood is a shared experience for both Mum and Dad on every level.
This is something that one father has tried to drive home this week, with a very important statement on the subject of babysitting.
In response to those who refer to a father minding his own child as ‘babysitting’, this Imgur user took to the photo-sharing site to remind everyone that this concept is completely wrong.

In the photo, which has gone viral around the world, the father can be seen pointing to the message written on his T-shirt, which reads: “Dads don’t babysit. It’s called ‘parenting’.”
As you can imagine, the image came in for much praise among the Imgur community, with one user writing: “I really do cringe when I hear a father referring to his time alone with kids as babysitting.”
Another, meanwhile, blasted: “Someone was furious at me when I ‘left’ the baby ‘home alone’ with his dad. Surely the 40-year-old father is [capable] of caring for his child?”
