Walker Pruett was born over one month premature, and weighed just one pound, three ounces. He was in hospital for 80 days, and during that time, a photographer called Byran from Capturing Hopes Photography took photos of him as part of the ‘Project 100 Days’.

Capturing Hopes Photography was launched after Byran’s four-month-old daughter died in the 1990s. Before the little girl’s death, a photographer had come and taken a photo of the family in hospital, and she says the photo really meant a lot to her after she lost her little one: “After [Christina] passed away, we got the photos in the mail. That’s when I really realised how important those photos were. That was our only professional photo that we had of our family at the time.”

Now, Byran connects professional photographer volunteers with families who have children in hospital.

Walker is now three months old, and his mum says that Byran's photos were a real gift: "It was really amazing to watch him grow."
