Upon learning that his daughter,Julia, had racked up a hefty phone bill due to her love of Instagram, Jared Cramer decided something needed to be done.
In an effort to hammer home his point, Jared made a decision which would break the heart of teenagers and budding fashionistas around the world.
Padlocking his daughter's wardrobe closed, Jared denied the 13-year-old access to her phone, clothes, shoes and jewellery, and instead provided her with three outfits he had purchased in a supermarket.
Speaking to NBC News, the single father explained: "My daughter told me about the bill when I was driving. She called me and said 'You owe 500 and some odd dollars'"
Understandably incensed by his daughter's mobile phone use, Jared labelled Julia's clothes with notes which indicated the number of chores she needed to complete in order to win back her possessions.
According to Jared, his approach worked and his daughter quickly got to grips with her designated household chores.
Referring to Julia as a "wonderful child who has a great attitude in life", Jared revealed: "She said to me, 'You know what dad, I know you love me, I know I messed up, and I'm gonna work this off.'" (sic)
Sounds like great teamwork to us!
