A grieving daughter, who has embarked on an incredible mission in honour of her late father, Edward, insists the heartwarming project is an incredible form of therapy.

26-year-old Paula Butlewska, who decided to fulfil her father's dream of travelling across the globe, ensures her dad is part of the very special project by sending a postcard to heaven from every stop along the way.

By enlisting the help of 20 loyal friends, more than 50 incredibly poignant postcards have been attached to brightly-coloured balloons and released into skies across Europe, Asia and America - all bound for one very special recipient.

Always addressed to her father in heaven, Paula hopes her efforts, which have been documented on Facebook, will go some way towards honouring the man who did not live long enough to see out his own dreams.

Opening up about the heartwarming endeavour, Paula explained: "One evening I thought to myself, 'Dad, you'll go to all these places,' and I emailed my close friends about my idea. I believe it's never too late, so together with friends we travel for him."

The determined young woman finds solace in the project, having struggled for a long time with her father's untimely death at the age of 61 from a sudden brain aneurysm.

Paying tribute to the man she calls her 'buddy', Paula, a native of Poland, said: "We have exactly the same character, he was a joker, a social butterfly and a really good man."

Thus far, Paula's beloved father has been the recipient of cards from all over the world including London, New York, Bolivia, Iceland and Chile.
