I first heard of Denny 100% natural ham on MummyPages. I’m happy to know that there is now a ham available in the supermarket that doesn’t have all the nasties in it. We eat a lot of ham in our house. My kids love ham sandwiches and I often use it for various different meals so it’s important to me that the quality of the ham is good.

When we received the ham to test, we decided to use the first pack for dinner that night and made baked potatoes with ham and sour cream. I baked the potatoes and scooped out the filling, then fried some onions and garlic, mixed this with sour cream and ham, and mashed everything with the scooped out potato. I then stuffed the potato shells with the mixture and shaved some parmesan on top. It was delicious and the ham was so tasty! We used the oak smoked ham and it was really yum! I usually have to use lots of ham to get any flavour but for this time I only needed a small amount because the flavour was lovely and strong. So that’s thumbs-up for the Oak Smoked!

The next night we made quiche. I usually use tuna instead of rashers when making quiche as I feel it’s healthier, but this time I used the Denny ham. I’m officially a convert to Denny now because it tasted so good and is way healthier than rashers! I really don’t think you could tell the difference if you used normal rashers. I’m delighted because I know the kids are seriously getting sick of mummy’s tuna quiche.

Finally I used the last pack of to make some after-school sandwiches for the kids. The kids really loved the thick slices…they said ‘it’s like having a sandwich in a restaurant’…which I think is their way of saying the quality is good

I would usually try not to have that amount of ham three days in a row, but because I know that Denny is 100% natural, I feel confident that I am making healthy choices for my family. I’m happy with the price, but I would love if Denny brought out packs with more slices.

Thanks so much for including me in the trial and sorry for the delay in giving my feedback! I really enjoyed taking part and the kids loved being ‘testers’ of the ham and giving their opinion.

Ever since Denny launched their 100% natural range, it’s the only ham I buy. When I discovered last year that packet ham contains a load of bad ingredients, I cut it out of our weekly shop…which made school lunches a pain in the neck! But when Denny introduced their 100% natural ham order was restored in the house and we all went back to having our lovely ham sandwiches. I also love to use ham in cooking, but would usually use Deli slices as they are thicker for cooking. So really happy I can now use these Thicker Cut slices from Denny instead.

On the first day we made pasta carbonara (a favourite in our house) using the Oak Smoked. I try to make my meals as healthy as possible so usually use low fat ingredients and now I can use these slices of ham instead of rashers which is far better. The Oak Smoked was delicious…a really lovely strong flavour which is great for a pasta dish.

The next day we made omelettes with the Honey Glazed, tomatoes and cheese…they were fab. Lovely taste and because the ham is nice and thick, I only needed a couple of slices.

We then used the Crumb Coated for sandwiches and the kids loved it. I’m not a fan of crumb coated ham myself, but the kids have always liked it so they were really pleased with the Denny thicker cut version.

I was really happy with all three packs and will be adding the thicker cut range to my shopping list from now on.

Thanks so much for the cute box of Denny ham! We were all excited when it arrived at the door and couldn’t wait to start testing.

My daughter was having her friends over that night for ‘make your own pizza’ night so it was the perfect chance to try out the ham. I bought fresh pizza bases from Dunnes (they are really great – would definitely recommend them) and I made the tomato sauce while the girls were playing. Then I put out all the toppings on the counter in bowls for the girls to choose from, including the chopped up Denny ham (we used the honey glazed this time) and the girls put together their own pizzas. All 3 out of the 4 girls put the ham on their pizza as a topping (and I put it on my own pizza too) and we all loved it. It was far better than using thinner slices of ham, and gave a lovely texture and taste to the pizzas.

The following day my daughters’ friends were still around after the sleep over, so we made sandwiches for lunch. I was lucky that only 3 of the girls like ham, cause there are only 3 slices in a pack…not much really when making sandwiches for the family but we still had enough on the day. Again everyone loved the ham – this time it was the crumb coated one – and everyone finished their sandwiches which was great! So I could send all the girls off to their mummies with full tummies.

A few days later I used the Oak Smoked ham for making a pasta bake. This was my favourite of all three packs! It was fabulous! Great flavour and added a bit of bite to the pasta.

Overall I am really happy with the ham. I love that its 100% natural so I know my family are getting good food into them. The only suggestion I have is that there be more slices in the packet…we’re a hungry bunch so a few more slices would be needed to keep us going for the week.

We eat ham a few days a week in our house – salads, sambos, omelettes, pasta etc. Denny is my favourite ham on the market so I knew straight away from the packaging what brand it was. I love that they have brought out a 100% natural range…gives me peace of mind that my family are eating good, natural food. I really loved the Thicker Cut ham…it tastes like the ham you make at home (or rather the ham my mother makes at home…have to confess I’ve never cooked ham myself). It’s very meaty, which I love. I used the honey glazed ham to make quesadillas and they were v yum…the ham had a lovely flavour. Then I used the crumb coat in rolls for the kids’ lunch…they ate every bite and said they want this ham in their sandwiches from now on. I used the final pack of ham for making a salad for my own lunch. I found the Oak Smoke a little strong for a salad (probably would work better in a quiche or with pasta) but it was very meaty so added a nice texture to boring salad lunch. Thank so much to MummyPages and Denny for letting me take part in the trial…my family loved testing out the ham. We were already Denny buyers and we eat ham almost every day. We love toasted ham, cheese and tomato sandwiches in this house!

I love the new thicker slice ham. It’s really tasty, and lovely and thick for putting into a salad. I’m delighted that it’s part of the Denny Deli Style 100% Natural Ingredients Ham range. Its great to know that what my kids are eating is 100% natural. My favourite was the Oak Smoked, as I love smoked meats and this tasted wonderful. I used it in an omelette and it was fab. I will definitely be adding this new product to my shopping list. I used some of the ham for the kids’ sandwiches…they were all happy with the ham, and my youngest even commented that she preferred it to the thinner slices.

I used the rest of the ham for pasta carbonara and it was devine…so much healthier than rashers and tastes just as good, if not better.

Thanks for letting us take part in this trial. We are a household of 5, mum and dad along with 3 hungry teenage boys. We got our Denny packs and I decided to make dinner using them – I have to say it’s a really handy thing to have to whip up a really quick and healthy meal. AND so much better than the thin slices when you’re making dinner too – thin ones are better for sandwiches I think. And on that note we already buy the Denny 100% natural ham normal slice ham, so we’re already fans.
I made a ham and mushroom pie, which was just fantastic and a big hit with the boys. Over the weekend, I made ham quiche for lunch on Saturday and with the remainder I made ham omelette on Sunday.
The ham is really tasty, and I think the favourite was the Oak Smoked, although there were no complaints on the Crumbed or the Honey Glazed, I suppose it’s just a personal taste.
Since we got our trial, Denny 100% natural ham thicker cut has been a regular feature in our house.

There’s just 3 of us in our house, and we all really enjoyed the Denny 100% natural ham thicker cut ham. My son is 7, and seems to be a bottomless pit when it comes to food. We had cheese and ham pasta on the night it arrived and it was lovely. We also made a ham and broccoli quiche which my husband loved. And with filo pastry I attempted to make a tomato and ham puff slice – it tasted gorgeous and my son absolutely loved it ... but I definitely need to work on my presentation though.

I really enjoyed taking part in this trial, the thicker cut ham is great for quick dinners, and I’m happy to know it’s 100% natural. It’s never really occurred to me to buy ham for dinners (I’ll often cook my own ham and use the left overs) but having tested the thicker cut ham from Denny, I’m happy to say it tastes as good as the home cooked stuff, and we have been buying it ever since. I’m so sorry I’m late with my feedback ... what a fantastic trial to take part in. There’s just me, the hubby and daughter to take part – and we loved it.
We always buy Denny 100% Natural Ingredients ham ... it’s so important to me to eat healthy food, and especially for my family too. BUT I like things that are convenient too, so this hits the mark on both.
As many other mums have said, the thicker cut ham is great for meals – we enjoyed using it for lunch with baked potato, quiche and pies, and we also had it in good old fashioned sandwiches too. The ham is really really tasty, reminds me of the ham my granny used to bake at home.
Favourite flavour is probably the crumbed one, but my dd loved the smoked one too.
We will be including this in our shopping from now it. Really handy, convenient, healthy and tasty. There aren’t a lot of things you can say that about these days.
