The mother of a young boy who was left devastated by his disappearance 24 years ago is due to make a new appeal on Greek television.

Kerry Needham from Sheffield, whose son Ben vanished during a family holiday to Kos in 1991, hopes her family's endeavours will yield positive results.

Kerry's son was just 21-months-old at the time of his disappearance and she's desperate to reignite public interest in the case by appearing on missing persons programme, Light at the End of the Tunnel,  a show which is broadcast to approximately half the Greek population.

Taking to social media to promote her search, Kerry wrote: "As part of operation Ben I have arrived in Athens this morning with my family and detectives from South Yorkshire Police. During our five days here we will be meeting the British ambassador for the first time in 23 years to discuss Ben's case."

Explaining the motivation behind her fresh appeal, Ben's mother said: "We sincerely hope this will lead to more people coming forward with new information and will help the British and Greek police investigate the whereabouts of Ben."

Home Office funding was granted to South Yorkshire Police earlier this year to ensure they could continue supporting Greek authorities in their search for Ben.

Wishing Kerry and her family all the very best with their efforts.
