A murder investigation has been launched following the shocking discovery of a 14-year-old boy in suspicious circumstances yesterday.

The body of Jordan Watson was found in a cemetery in Cumbria at approximately 7.45pm yesterday evening.

According to police reports, the teen sustained multiple head wounds, which appear to have been inflicted with a sharp implement, in an attack which has been described as 'savage and brutal".

Commenting on the devastating incident, lead investigator and Detective Superintendent, Andrew Slattery, said: "Jordan has lost his life as a result of a savage and brutal attack which has shocked the officers working on the case."

Expressing regret at the brutality of the crime, Mr Carlisle went on to say: "For a child to die in these circumstances in Carlisle is appalling."

Appealing to the public to come forward with any information they may have, the police official insisted: "If anybody heard or saw anything unusual in the area of the cemetery on Manor Road overnight, I would urge them to report it to our incident room."

North Cumbria CID are currently accepting calls on Jordan's case, with Detective Superintendent Slattery asserting: "The offender or offenders must be apprehended."

Our hearts go out to all those affected by Jordan's tragic and untimely passing.
