Your optometrist or ophthalmologist will be able to perform a comprehensive eye exam, including determining the degree of your presbyopia. He will be able to prescribe glasses or contact lenses. Your optometrist will use a phoropter, an instrument that measures the amount of refractive error you have.  It will also help to determine the degree of the refractive error and the proper prescription needed to correct it.
