When Duff Watson and his two children were waiting to board their flight to Denver, US, Duff used a medium of complaint that is very common these days – social media.

As a member of Southwest Airlines A-List programme, Duff is entitled to priority boarding, but his children are not.

This issue descended into an argument with the gate agent, when the dad insisted he could not leave his children to board alone. The dad then used Twitter to voice his anger, writing: “Wow, rudest agent in Denver. Kimberly S, gate C39 not happy @SWA.”

The family were then removed from the flight and told they could not re-board until the tweet was deleted. The reason for this is said to have been, that the gate agent in question feared for her safety after the tweet with her name in it went out.

Duff told how his children became upset, his daughter, Lucy, reduced to tears thinking her daddy was going to jail.

The airline later apologised by email to the dad who says he will no longer fly with Southwest
