While it should be about the beach and playing in the garden, considering the unpredictable weather, the summer, for most of it involves trips to the local cinema to watch the latest movie. And, thankfully, this is year is of no exception.

The latest live action film to come from Disney's film factory is Pete's Dragon, an exciting and heartwarming kids' movie about friendship, embracing the outdoors and of course, family.

The film follows the story of a little boy who has spent the last six years living in a forest with a dragon named Elliot, and what happens when the local village realises their is a fire-breathing dragon nearby.

For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace, who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete.

Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. And from Pete’s descriptions, Elliott seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham’s stories. With the help of Natalie, an 11-year-old girl whose father, Jack, owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.

Starring Robert Redford, Bryce Dallas Howard and Oakes Fegley, Disney's Pete’s Dragon opens in cinemas on Friday, 12th August 2016.
