This December, pull on your ice-skating boots and head to Mahon Point in Cork or the Blanchardstown Centre in Dublin for a spin around the ice.

With Cork on Ice running from now until Sunday, 31st January and Blanchardstown on Ice open right up until Sunday, 21st February, there will be plenty of time to partake in a little bit of frozen family-fun!

Open from 3:10pm until 9pm during the week and 10:30am until 9pm at the weekends and school holidays, there will be loads of time to gather the troops and enjoy the festivities - don't forget to warm up with a hot chocolate from the rink side café.

Being located in two busy shopping destinations, there is plenty of free parking and frequent public transport to and from both centres, so it is accessible to families all over.

Every Saturday at 10:30am and 11:40am, there will be a very special visitor on the ice to greet skaters – SANTA!

And as you twirl and glide (hopefully!) over the ice, Christmas hits will keep you jolly and in the holiday mood.

Don’t forget about the smallest member of your family:

The Penguin Club is available to kids from three- to ten-years-of-age, and there are special skates that fit over the shoe for those with really tiny feet. Sessions for younger skaters take place in the children's rink, and there will be plenty of ice marshals and penguin stabiliser to keep them on their feet.

Not keen on going along yourself? Why not treat a loved one to a unique gift and pick them up an ice skating voucher - you never know, they might get bitten by the skating bug.
