Children have an incredible capacity for bravery, and one amazing nine-year-old boy has made headlines across his native Australia this week with a very courageous act.

Young Domenic Pace has become a household name after ‘rescuing’ a journalist who had been ‘kidnapped’ by a ‘supervillain’.

Before you furrow your eyebrows, this was all a part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s plan to bring Domenic’s ultimate dream of becoming a superhero to fruition.

Young Domenic suffers from cystic fibrosis, and all he has ever wanted is to put his heroic skills to the test to defend his native Sydney!

As usual, Make-A-Wish and the local community really rallied to pull off a perfect day for the nine-year-old.

The day began with Domenic being transported to police HQ in a helicopter, for a briefing with the assistant police commissioner. He was then given his full ‘Iron Boy’ armour and gear and set out to take on the evil Ultron, who was wreaking havoc in the city.

In an amazing show of bravery, Iron Boy managed to save the journalist AND defeat Ultron in style, right in front of the Opera House. He was then presented with a Medal of Valour.

Iron Boy’s adventures were documented on social media for the day, and he received incredible support from locals as well as Hollywood stars. Indeed, Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. sent a very special video to Domenic, with some words of encouragement.

Well done to Iron Boy – his bravery will serve as an inspiration to many.
