Dublin mum to stand trial over death of toddler son

A woman who was accused and charged with murdering her son last year has had a date set for her trial.

Hazel Khan’s two-year-old son was found dead in his home in Ballybrack in October of last year having sustained multiple stab wounds.

Hassan Khan was discovered in the bedroom of their apartment where he is believe to have been killed between October 15th and 16th and his mother was arrested at the scene.

The toddler’s 46-year-old mother, who is currently a patient at the Central Mental Hospital, had her case heard before the Central Criminal Court this morning.

The accused’s trial has been set for October 17^th 2016 and could, according to Mr. Justice Patrick McCarthy, last more than a week.
