A woman whose son was snatched from his crib 30 years ago has made one final appeal for him, or anyone with information about his disappearance, to come forward.

Bernice Abeyta, from Colorado in the States, is now 73 and was given a life expectancy of four to eight months last May, when diagnosed with terminal gallbladder cancer.

In an interview with ABC News, Bernice – who is a mum-of-seven – admitted that despite her own personal health battle, solving baby Christopher’s disappearance is still her ‘number one priority’.

Christopher was born in November 1985. Just seven months later, he was taken from his crib one night, and the family have never seen or heard from him since.

At the time, Bernice was adamant that she would never stop searching for her son, and she is sticking to her promise.

“I’ve always felt very positive that even though it’s been 30 years, it would happen. I think that’s what kept me going in trying to find him. There’s no way we were going to forget him,” she said.

Issuing a public plea, Bernice added: “I’m trying to put vibes his way and say, ‘OK Christopher, maybe it’s time for you to find us.’ Maybe it’s more convenient for him to find us than us find him. I believe that all of us parents need justice. There’s a lot of forgiveness going around, but ask a parent if they’d forgive.”

The investigation into Christopher’s disappearance is reportedly still ongoing, with police recently even confirming that they have a person of interest.

Let’s hope the mystery is solved in time.
