If, like us, you were massive fans of long-running television show, Absolutely Fabulous, we have some fantastic news for you!

The BBC sitcom, which brought us some of the funniest scenes in television history, is set to hit the big screen in the not-too-distant future, with principal photography for the film having already begun.

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS: THE MOVIE, will be shooting on location in the UK and south of France for seven weeks while we wait with bated breath for the latest comedic offerings from television icons, Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley.

Commenting on the show's transition from the small screen to the silver screen, Fox Searchlight Pictures President of Production, Claudia Lewis, couldn't hide her delight, saying: “We’re so happy to join Jennifer, Joanna and the Absolutely Fabulous team on their latest and greatest adventures!”
 


Equally enthused by the prospect of revisiting the glamorous lifestyle enjoyed by her character, Edina, Jennifer Saunders gushed: “I am thrilled and excited to finally start filming. We are all on the Sanatogen and hoping for the best.”

For any fans fearing a departure from the main themes of the original show, they can rest assured ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS: THE MOVIE will stay true to the sitcom's origins by documenting the latest disaster in the lives of best friends Edina and Patsy.

The ladies' latest exploits are set to hit cinema screen in 2016 and we can barely wait!
