A father is understandably furious after his daughter was misdiagnosed with blurred vision, when in fact she was suffering from a brain tumour.

According to reports, Imogen’s dad, Ben Diggle, had noticed that his three-year-old's eyesight wasn’t as developed as her twin brother’s and took her to the doctor.

From here they were referred to the optician, who said his daughter was too young for anything to show up, and asked them to come back in six months. However, with things still not improving, Ben demanded to be given a hospital appointment which finally uncovered the tumour.

The little girl is currently undergoing intensive chemotherapy, although doctors won’t operate as it may risk her sight in both eyes – she is permanently blind in her left eye already.

Talking to the MailOnline, Ben said: "We were absolutely devastated when they told us. You think beforehand that you can be prepared for something bad but it's a shock when it hits you."

"I'm confused and angry that they couldn't have looked at her sooner. A physiotherapist had to tell us that a hospital could do eye tests for her and I'm grateful that she did because we might not have done anything about it for another six months," the father-of-three said.

While the 3cm tumour is quite big it isn’t expected to get any worse, but the family have to wait until September to see if the chemo has worked.

Wishing little Imogen a speedy recovery.
