There is worry for thousands of fans today, as doubts have been cast over two of Garth Brooks' concerts in Croke Park which are scheduled for the end of this month.

Due to a written agreement dating back to 2009 stating that no more than three concerts may be permitted to be held in the park each year, local residents have begun a campaign.

There had been talk that two of the concerts may be moved to the RDS or the Aviva stadium, though this is not believed to be possible.

The Irish Independent has reported that as of last night “various options” were being explored in order to resolve the issue.

Dublin City Council are due to make a decision on the matter by the end of the week.

All five Garth Brooks concerts scheduled from the 25th July until the 29th are sold out.

Update: It has now been announced that only three of the five scheduled concerts will be going ahead at Croke Park at the end of July.

The gigs scheduled for Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th have not received the licence to go ahead by Dublin City Council and have been cancelled.

There has been no information yet on whether another venue will be chosen for the concerts.
