Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 will see a fearsome food-based fate for young inventor Flint Lockwood and his girlfriend Sam Sparks.
This sequel picks up closely from where the last movie left off and sees Flint now working for his idol, Chester V at the Live Corp Company, with the best inventors in the world. However the war against food hasn’t been won yet.
Flint’s FLDSMDFR invention, which turned water into an out-of-control food rain storm hasn’t been destroyed like the characters thought. In fact, it’s been working away producing food-animal hybrids.
According to Bill Hader, who provides the voice for Flint “It's created these living food creatures that have basically taken over Flint's home, the island where he lives. That island is kind of like Jurassic Park," says Hader. The food-imals include tacodiles, fruit cockatiels, cucumbirds, bananostriches, flamangoes, wildabeets, and watermelophants.
"I love the shrimpanzees," says Anna Faris, who does the voice for Sam. "They're my favorite. They're sort of these wildly beautiful, giant shrimp that move like a chimpanzee. They sort of lope along with these huge shrimp arms."
