Most kids request the most expensive or trendy new toys when they meet Santa Claus, but one incredible four-year-old surprised everyone with his very special wish this year.
Four-year-old Prestyn Barnette has become a viral internet sensation this week, after photos of him praying with Santa Claus at a South Carolina mall were shared to Instagram.
Prestyn’s aunt, Rebekah Sharpe, shared the snaps of the little boy kneeling with his head bowed, and revealed that he had asked Santa to pray for the health of a two-month-old baby fighting for his life in a Las Vegas hospital.
Although Prestyn has never met the baby, little Knox Stine, he had heard about the tot through his grandmother’s prayer group and wanted to use his special time with Santa to help him.
Rebekah revealed that not only was Santa Claus himself overwhelmed by the request, but the photo has been doing the rounds on social media. In one of the latest comments under the post, a follower wrote: “Since this morning, the baby boy that he prayed for breathed on his own for 45 minutes! I don’t care what anyone says, the power of prayer works!”
Meanwhile, baby Knox’s mum Mindi told Today that the incredible gesture has not gone unnoticed or unappreciated.
"I never met them. I don't know them. I don't know how they know of us or heard of us or anything, but I recognised their names, and I knew that they had said that they were praying for baby Knox, and for a miracle for us…I showed my husband [the photo], and we both just smiled at each other, like, 'Something amazing is happening.' It was just beautiful,” she said.
