Fun and easy DIY crafts for kids: igniting creativity and imagination
Most kids are creative in nature, but they always need help figuring out where to start. Crafting is a great way to get started, and there are tonnes of different types of crafts you can do from creating cute picture frames to making imaginative unicorn masks - all you need is a little imagination and inspiration to get crafting.
 
This is a great activity for kids of all ages - it will boost a kid’s creativity and is something you can do all year long, not to mention DIY craft projects will keep them busy and entertained for hours. So if you're looking for ideas for things to make when bored - here's a few of our favourite craft options that you can easily do at home with the kids. 
 
Paper Flowers
All you need to make these flowers is colourful paper, cardboard, glue, tape, and scissors. It is also perfect if you are short on time. To get started with the craft, fold the papers and cut them into petal and fringe shapes. Children will love making these flowers when they can create something unique. They can use those flowers to decorate their rooms.
 
DIY Dream catcher
A dreamcatcher is traditionally made from a willow hoop and is hung over beds to catch bad dreams. Instead of buying one, you can create a really simple version at home. 
All you need is a paper plate, glue and a few accessories such as colourful ribbons, pom poms, buttons, stones, or sequins to give it a unique look. 
 
Rainbow Wand
A DIY rainbow wand is super easy to make. You need only a few supplies for making the craft, including paper straws, rainbow ribbons, construction cards, glue, and a stick. You can also customize the craft with glittery stars.
You can make the craft by cutting out a shape like a cloud, sun, stars, moon - whatever you prefer and decorate with vibrant rainbow colours. 
 
Paper Plate Fish Craft
For this project, you will need coloured pencils, paper plates, scissors, glue, and any other crafting accessories you have lying around. Choose a colour for your paper plate fish and colour the plate in, don't forget the scales. Cut out fins and a tail from another plate or piece of paper and add them to the design to bring your paper plate fish craft alive. 
 
Lava Lamp
The DIY craft of creating a lava lamp is an exciting and simple fun project for children of all ages. Engaging in this project, they will be fully occupied for hours with amusement and entertainment.
The supplies required for creating this lava lamp are quite simple: a bottle, water, food colouring, vegetable oil and antacid tablets.
Fill the bottle to almost full with vegetable oil, fill the rest of the bottle with water. Add in a few drops of food colouring and drop in the antacid tablet - watch as your lava lamp activates.
 
Tea Light Witches
DIY tea light witches can be perfect for decorating whatever the season (although they are particularly good at Halloween). For this craft project, you will need black craft paper, googly eyes, flameless tea lights, a glue gun, coloured craft rhinestones, and a black ribbon. Start by cutting out a witch's hat shape and placing on the side of the tealight. At the front affix the goggle eyes - just above the flame part which acts as a nose. Add your coloured rhinestones to decorate the light and glue a ribbon on top so you can hang it up.
Once you have finished making this darling craft, you can use it as a decorative piece to decorate your home or an ideal gift item.
 
Home made bubbles
This is a really simple one and the kids will love it. Using basic washing up liquid with a little water added, you can create your bubbly mixture - and what child doesn't love playing with bubbles. You can create a bubble wand from a straw or a pipe cleaner. And away you go.
 
Coffee Filter Flower Craft
Creating beautiful flowers using coffee filters is very easy.  You only need coffee filters and paint or crayons to make these flowers. And a healthy dose of imagination.
 
DIY Paper Plate Sun Craft
Making a paper plate sun craft can be a great learning blast for toddlers. The basic supplies for creating this craft are yellow paint, white school glue, white paper plates, red coloured pencils, black craft foam, black permanent marker, a paintbrush, and scissors.
