Gardaí are searching for suspects after attempted child abductions in Bundoran, Co. Donegal and Leitrim Village.

The first incident occurred in Bundoran last week, when a four year old boy was approached by a white van while playing in his front garden.

The little boy was enticed to enter the van with the promise of sweets, but the van drove off when the boy’s mother came outside. The van was described as being a Renault, possibly with a Southern number plate.

Gardaí say the second incident occurred in Leitrim Village, a man in a white Toyota Hiace van with blue and black writing on the side approached a ten-year-old boy. He tried to persuade the child to get into the van, but he ran away to get help and the van fled.

The van reportedly drove off in the direction of Drumshanbo. The driver was described as being in his 30s, wearing a white t-shirt.

Gardaí are appealing to the public for information.
