In the wake of so many shocking abduction and attempted abduction stories in the past number of weeks, we have yet another disturbing report to share this afternoon.

Dublin Gardaí are today investigating the alleged sexual assault of a teenager in the north of the city.

According to reports today, the incident is believed to have occurred on Wednesday evening this week, in the Balbriggan area of the city.

The victim of the alleged attack is said to be a 14-year-old girl.

Gardaí have launched an investigation into the frightening allegations, but no arrest has been made as of this afternoon.

The authorities are now appealing for witnesses, or anyone who thinks they might have information to get in touch with them at their Balbriggan station.

This news comes just weeks after a man was arrested for the attempted abduction of a 12-year-old girl in County Laois. The man is reported to have dragged the girl into his vehicle, with the 12-year-old managing to escape after her younger brother raised the alarm by making as much noise as possible.

This is a terrifying spate of incidents that highlight just how vigilant we and our children need to be. It’s always a good idea to arm your child with as much information on stranger danger as possible, from a young age.
